Executive Protection Insurance Important Coverage "Bells and Whistles"
Description

Increasingly, buyers of commercial insurance are interested in how traditionally mysterious insurance coverages may possibly benefit their organizations. Although Employment Practices Liability insurance (EPL) has become better understood since its introduction more than a quarter century ago, new exposures are rather constantly arising which demand extension of the basic coverage, or modification of coverage which was previously generally acceptable. This topic is deigned to demonstrate how:

  1. How basic coverage may be extended
  2. Continuing market conditions may be used to benefit the client, through savvy insurance agent actions and timelines
  3. Various extension/broadening of traditional coverage will be discussed, as well as tactics and strategies relating to renewals.
  4. Examples of new policy language will be provided and discussed, as the four-hours of material and discussion unfolds.

Risk Management - The Basics
Description

This course is going to review the basics of risk management. Insurance is a form of risk transfer. In order to transfer the risk, an insurance professional first has to analyze the business customer’s exposures to loss to determine those that should be transferred to insurance, those risks that should be maintained and advise on those risks threaten the insured’s enterprise so they can avoid or minimize those potential catastrophic losses. This course will go over the basics of risk management and the techniques an insurance professional should employ in partnering with their customer to adequately protect their interests.

Homeowners - The Five Key Issues You Must Know
Description

This course will focus on five complex areas that are commonly misunderstood when writing Homeowners Insurance. The course will incorporate case studies as frames of reference to answer the question: “covered—not covered” based on the facts of the case. The topics that will be covered include:

  • Who is the insured on the policy and how to name trusts:
  • Usage of the home including seasonal, rental, vacancy and un-occupancy;
  • Valuation issues and Building Ordinance Insurance;
  • Loss Assessment and the Homeowners Association; and
  • Key Endorsements. By taking this course the participant will have a better understanding on identifying risk and providing the appropriate policy and endorsements.

Avoiding Errors and Omissions from Three Perspectives
Description

THIS COURSE QUALIFIES FOR CREDIT ON AGENT’S E & 0 INSURANCE WITH SOME INSURANCE COMPANIES

This course will focus on how to avoid errors and omissions from three different perspectives:

  1. Digital/Electronic E & O
  2. Fraud and Errors and Omissions
  3. Review of an agent’s E & O Policy…what’s covered and what’s NOT
The digital/electronic E & O section will highlight the growing vulnerability for an insurance broker/agent and insurance company stemming from the internet and tech exposures. The course will discuss errors and omissions stemming from such issues as the Agency Management System, use of the internet, an agent’s web site, and use of an intranet, e-mail and social networking. Fraud and E & O is a growing concern and must be identified and dealt with immediately in compliance with the law and agency procedures. An agent purchases E & O coverage as a last resort. The class will address what is covered, what is not covered, deductibles and self-insurance.
